Billing & Collection Policies

Memorial Medical Center is dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs for the communities we serve. Our Patient Financial Service Department is set up to assist you in ensuring your healthcare bills are handled properly. Memorial Medical Center will provide care at its best to all persons, and will never refuse emergency care to anyone presenting to our facility. Ultimately, however, patients are responsible for their personal medical bills.

It is very important that persons needing financial assistance with medical bills contact us as soon as possible, so that we can discuss how we can offer to help. Our Financial Services Department, as well as our Patient Services Representative, are available to help.

Insurance Plans

We file all insurance claims for patients according to the information provided. It is important that we have your most recent insurance information on file, therefore, we ask you to provide your insurance card when seeking services. If you have any specific questions on your coverage, please contact your insurance carrier, as there are different individual policies that may be covered under an insurance contract we have.

Private Pay Balances

If you have high copayments or deductibles or have no insurance at all, there are several ways that Memorial Medical Center can assist you. The Patient Financial Services Department has the ability to set up payment plans. We can also help provide information on how to apply for Badger Care Plus and other public programs, as well as our own community care program. We also have available a discount for all individuals with no insurance coverage.

Community Care

Our facility does offer community care for individuals that are unable to pay. There is an application process that must be completed in order to receive community care. The granting of community care is based on an individualized determination of financial need using the Federal Poverty guidelines along with household income and size and does not take into account age, gender, race, social or immigrant status, sexual orientation or religious affiliation. Please contact our Patient Services Representative, who is available to assist you in that process, and can be reached at 715-743-3101. Applications are also available at the registration area and online.
